The research team at Amen Clinics, in collaboration with scientists from UCLA, Thomas Jefferson University, and the University of British Columbia, published the world’s largest functional brain imaging study on more than 21,000 patients that demonstrated we can distinguish between posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) using brain SPECT imaging with high accuracy.
The psychological and behavioral symptoms of prior head trauma can easily lead to misdiagnosis. Cognitive approaches alone are less likely to succeed and place officer families at increased risk of suicide.

The foundation's last gala featured veteran Marcus Luttrell (played by Mark Walberg in the movie Lone Survivor), former governor Rick Perry, and political advocate Glenn Beck.

Dr Matt's training includes internship and residencies at three multidisciplinary brain centers in addition to over 15 years of healthcare and theology study at Duke, Emory, Southeastern, Liberty, East Tennessee State, and Parker University.

With The Sound of Freedom going to #1 in the box office last summer and The Chosen attracting over 200 million viewers worldwide, the world is starving for true and inspiring stories. After learning about Dr. Matt’s groundbreaking work and witnessing the miracles within his clinic, these same filmmakers gathered to form a new film production company at NeuroHealth Texas in June 2024.
Step 2. Our clinicians will perform a NeuroHealth assessment for TBI and brain health. We may order fMRI, SPECT, neurotransmitter labs, or genetic labs. We will then provide a detailed report to your licensed counselor, explaining specific physical and mental challenges unique to your brain health and functional brain injuries.
